Flash Fill in Excel

June 14, 2016

Here’s an Office 365 Byte requested by Sean. To be honest, I am not someone who uses Excel regularly, but these Bytes are just as much to expand my knowledge as they are to expand yours! Flash Fill seems like a huge time-saver, and I love that it is “on” by default.

Last month was a busy month! We were hit with some great news from Microsoft – they opened two Canadian datacentres. Kelly attended Social Media Camp. App: Office Lens

June 6, 2016

The other day I was snapping pics of a document to put in our OneNote, and our team lead Alec suggested I use Microsoft’s Office Lens app. As soon as I used it, I wondered how I ever lived without it. The app is basically a “scanner” for your documents, business cards, and whiteboards. My Read More

We stumbled upon How To Geek’s post on how to get Windows 10 for free after the complimentary upgrade period ends on July 29th. We thought it would be great to get the message out to our friends and clients. Essentially, if you don’t want Windows 10 just yet, you can still “reserve” a copy Read More

Trusted Intranet Sites

April 8, 2016

When I started at itgroove, the resident co-op student had a few words of jaded advice for me: you’d better get used to entering your login information all of the time here. I went on my days, entering in the login information with the same unaware nonchalance of someone pushing their glasses up their nose, Read More

In Microsoft Word, there’s a cool feature you can turn on called “Readability” which shows how readable your document is. It gives you a rating on reading ease, based on the Flesch-Kincaid Reading Ease formula. It also tells you the grade level it would require to read your document, in case you’re drafting docs for Read More

April 2, 2016

Like any good Canadians, our office is operated inside of a hockey rink. Every so often, we’ll set up a booth on game nights here. Louis brings his virtual reality headset, and while we have a captive audience, we swoop in to woo them with our charm and branded swag. It’s a great way to Read More

Create Space in OneNote

March 29, 2016

A lot of the time, copying and pasting things into OneNote can really mess up your groove. It can push things out of the way, ruin the format, and just make it plain ugly. Beyond looks, it ruins your productivity because you’ll end up wasting time trying to put things back to where they were. Read More
