My Top 10 Favourite Wireless Network Names

Your SSID – or, the name that identifies your wireless network – can say a lot about you. You can use it to communicate with neighbours, express your geekiness, and even make people laugh when they connect. If you want, you can have a lot of fun with it.

Here are my top 10 favourite wireless network names that I’ve seen or found on the Internet:

10. The LAN Before Time

I recently watched The Land Before Time and realized how depressing it actually is.

9. Troy and Abed in the Modem

RIP Community (2009-2015).

8. Wu-Tang LAN

Ain’t nothin to (censored) with.

7. Pretty Fly for a WiFi

Uh-huh, uh-huh!

6. It Hurts When IP

Maybe you should talk to a doctor about that.

5. Cortana

Everyone’s favourite virtual assistant.

4. All Your Bandwidth Are Belong to Us

One of the original memes.

3. Starship Enterprise

2. No Pokemon Here Go Away

Kids these days should play outside!

1. I have WiFi and you don’t

The ultimate burn.

Jokes Aside…

We’ve recently started offering our Business Class Wireless solution, and we’re pretty excited about it. Our president, Sean Wallbridge, recently blogged about why we’ve added this service to our repertoire. Every business deserves a strong, fast, reliable wireless connection – and we can help with that. However, the name of the network is up to you. 😉

If you’ve made it this far, what are some of your favourite wireless network names? Leave your response in the comments below!

My favorite is either a non-breaking space or complex emoji. They usually have to be pasted into the SSID field, but most routers I have will take them. If they don’t I just go with the classic \(^_^\) instead.

Ha, awesome! What does the non-breaking space do? Just show up empty? I’m a fan of kaomojis as well. Now that I think about it, the shrugging one would make a good name too…
