Victoria, BC Beaches:

What are some of your favourite beaches to visit near our HQ in Victoria, BC?

May 19, 2017
Sean Wallbridge says:

Port Alberni for lots of sun. No beaches that I’m aware of. Witty’s Lagoon is nice.

Kelly Marshall says:

Close to Victoria: Mile Zero for rock beach with bumping beach parties.

30-40 minute drive from Victoria: Witty’s Lagoon for a sandy beach. It’s really shallow, so the
water warms up real nice. Good for suntanning and skimboarding.

Bruce Smith says:

Island View is long and rocky, but great for BBQs. Cadboro Bay at the end of McKenzie is where all the UVic students play frisbee. It’s sandy, but the water is sketchy… ok for paddleboarding, though.

Plan botanical beach for a mega low tide just after lunch, and bring good boots and two hiking poles each – it’s so good.

Darren Jarvie says:

Best on the island: Parksville or Tofino (Parksville is on the warmer side of the island, but no big waves)

Best close by: Willows, Lagoon (Colwood), or Witty’s

Best non sandy beach: Botanical Beach (Port Renfrew)

Karin Skapski says:

Willows Beach for pillowy soft sand, close by!
